Matthew 27: The Soldiers Mock Jesus

Matthew 27: Judas Hangs Himself

27 Early in the morning, all the chief priests and the elders of the people made their plans how to have JESUS Executed.

² So they bound HIM, led HIM away and handed HIM over to Pilate the governor.

³ When Judas, who had betrayed HIM, saw that JESUS was Condemned, he was seized with remorse and returned the Thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and the elders. (3)

⁴ “I have sinned,” he said, “for I have betrayed innocent blood.” “What is that to us?” they replied. “That’s your responsibility.”

⁵ So Judas threw the money into the temple and left. Then he went away and hanged himself.

Lamentations 3: 3 I am the Man who has seen Affliction by the Rod of the Lord’s Wrath.
² He has Driven Me Away and Made Me Walk in Darkness Rather Than Light;

³ indeed, He has Turned His Hand Against Me again and again, all day long. (3)

John Testifies Again About JESUS

²² After this, JESUS and HIS disciples went out into the Judean countryside, where HE spent some time with them, and baptized.

²³ Now John also was baptizing at Aenon near Salim, because there was plenty of water, and people were coming and being baptized.

²⁴ (This was before John was put in prison.)

²⁵ An argument developed between some of John’s disciples and a certain Jew over the matter of ceremonial washing.

¹² I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things? (3)

¹³ No one has ever gone into heaven except the One who came from heaven—the SON(JESUS) of Man.

¹⁴ Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be Lifted up,

¹⁵ that everyone who believes may have Eternal Life in HIM(JESUS).”

¹⁶ For GOD so loved the world that HE gave HIS ONE(JESUS) and only SON, that whoever believes in HIM shall not perish but have Eternal Life.

³ JESUS replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the Kingdom of GOD unless they are born again.” (3)

⁴ “How can someone be born when they are old?” Nicodemus asked. “Surely they cannot enter a second time into their mother’s womb to be born!”

⁵ JESUS answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the Kingdom of GOD unless they are born of Water and the SPIRIT.

⁶ Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the SPIRIT gives birth to Spirit.

²⁹ The bride(HIS people) belongs to the Bridegroom(JESUS). The friend(John) who attends the Bridegroom waits and listens for HIM, and is full of Joy when he hears the Bridegroom’s Voice. That Joy is mine(John), and it is now complete.

² He came to JESUS at night and said, “RABBI, we know that YOU are a Teacher who has come from GOD. For no one could perform the signs YOU are doing if GOD were not with HIM.”

²³ Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the FATHER in the SPIRIT and in TRUTH, for they are the kind of worshipers the FATHER seeks.

²⁴ GOD is Spirit, and His worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in Truth.”

¹³ Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, (4)

¹⁴ but whoever drinks the Water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the Water I give them will become in them a Spring of water welling up to Eternal life.”

¹⁵ The woman said to Him, “Sir, give me this Water so that I won’t get thirsty and have to keep coming here to draw water.”

⁵ So He came to a town in Samaria called Sychar, near the plot of ground Jacob had given to his son Joseph.

⁶ Jacob’s well was there, and Jesus, tired as He was from the journey, sat down by the well. It was about noon.

⁴⁶ Once more He visited Cana in Galilee, where He had turned the Water into Wine. And there was a certain royal official whose son lay sick at Capernaum. (1)

⁴⁸ “Unless you people see signs and wonders,” JESUS told him, “you will never believe.”

Many Samaritans Believe

³⁹ Many of the Samaritans from that town believed in Him because of the woman’s testimony, “He told me everything I ever did.”

²⁸ Then, leaving her water jar, the woman went back to the town and said to the people, (1)

²⁹ “Come, see A Man who told me everything I ever did. Could this be the Messiah?” (2)

³⁰ They came out of the town and made their way toward Him(JESUS). (So deep are not measurable, science in the Bible.)

¹⁹ “Sir,” the woman said, “I can see that You are A Prophet. (1)

²⁰ Our ancestors worshiped on this mountain, but You Jews claim that the place where we must worship is in Jerusalem.”

²¹ “Woman,” JESUS replied, “believe Me, a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem. (in the New Jerusalem after 1000 years in heaven, from the arrival of the Lord JESUS His second coming, into this world.)

¹⁰ JESUS answered her, “If you knew the gift of GOD and Who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked Him and He would have given you Living Water (Holy Spirit).” (1)

¹¹ “Sir,” the woman said, “you have nothing to draw with and the well is deep. Where can You get this Living Water?

¹² Are You greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did also his sons and his livestock?”

4 Now JESUS learned that the Pharisees had heard that He was gaining and baptizing more disciples than John—  (1)

² although in fact it was not Jesus who baptized, but His disciples.

¹³ But in keeping with His Promise we are looking forward to a New Heaven and a New Earth, where Righteousness dwells.

¹⁴ So then, dear friends, since you are looking forwardto this, make every effort to be found "Spotless", "Blameless" and at "Peace" with Him(JESUS).

¹⁵ Bear in mind that our Lord’s patience means Salvation, just as our dear brother Paul also wrote you with the wisdom that GOD gave him.

¹⁶ He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters. His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other scriptures, to their own destruction.

³ Above all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. (3)

⁴ They will say, “Where is this ‘coming’ he promised? Ever since our ancestors died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.” (When you die, the year 1000 is the same as 1 day. The days do not matter anymore, for those who have died. When the LORD JESUS comes today or tomorrow and tomorrow again, it makes no difference. That means, that the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand, for everyone.)

⁵ But they deliberately forget that long ago by God’s word the heavens came into being and the earth was formed out of water and by water.

⁶ By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed.

⁷ By the same Word the present heavens and earth are reserved for Fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly.

¹⁰ But the day of the Lord will come like a Thief. The Heavens will Disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by Fire, and the Earth and everything done in it will be laid bare. (1)

¹¹ Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives

3 Dear friends, this is now my second letter to you. I have written both of them as reminders to stimulate you to wholesome thinking. (1)

¹² But these people blaspheme in matters they do not understand. They are like unreasoning animals, creatures of instinct, born only to be "caught" and "destroyed", and like animals they too will "perish". (3)

¹³ They will be paid back with harm for the harm they have done. Their idea of pleasure is to carouse in broad daylight. They are blots and blemishes, reveling in their pleasures while they feast with you.

¹⁴ With eyes full of adultery, they never stop sinning; they seduce the unstable; they are experts in greed—an accursed brood!

¹⁵ They have left the straight way and wandered off to follow the way of Balaam son of Bezer, who loved the wages of wickedness.

¹⁶ But he was rebuked for his wrongdoing by a donkey—an animal without speech—who spoke with a human voice and restrained the prophet’s madness.

³ In their greed these teachers will exploit you with fabricated stories. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping. (3)

⁴ For if GOD did not spare angels when they sinned, but sent them to hell, putting them in chains of darkness to be held for judgment;

⁵ if He did not spare the ancient world when He brought the flood on its ungodly people, but protected Noah, a preacher of righteousness, and seven others;

⁶ if He condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah by burning them to ashes, and made them an example of what is going to happen to the ungodly;

⁷ and if He rescued Lot, a righteous man, who was distressed by the depraved conduct of the lawless

¹⁹ They promise them freedom, while they themselves are slaves of depravity—for “people are slaves to whatever has mastered them.” (1)

²⁰ If they have escaped the corruption of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior JESUS CHRIST and are again entangled in it and are overcome, they are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning.

¹⁰ This is especially true of those who follow the corrupt desire of the flesh and despise authority. Bold and arrogant, they are not afraid to heap abuse on celestial beings; (1)

2 But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the Sovereign Lord(JESUS) who bought them—bringing swift destruction on themselves. (1)

²¹ For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from GOD as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. (3)

¹⁶ For we did not follow cleverly devised stories when we told you about the coming of our LORD JESUS CHRIST in Power, but we were eyewitnesses of His Majesty. (7)

¹⁷ He received Honor and Glory from GOD the Father when the voice came to Him from the Majestic Glory, saying, “This is My Son, whom I love; with Him I am well Pleased.”

¹⁸ We ourselves heard this voice that came from heaven when we were with Him on the Sacred mountain.

⁷ and to GODliness, Mutual Affection; and to Mutual Affection, love. (7)

⁸ For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being Ineffective and Unproductive in your Knowledge of our LORD JESUS CHRIST.

⁹ But whoever does not have them is nearsighted and blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their past sins.

¹³ I think it is right to refresh your memory as long as I live in the tent of this body, (4)

¹⁹ We also have the prophetic message as something completely reliable, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a Light Shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the Morning Star Rises in your Hearts. (1)

²⁰ Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation of things.

¹⁰ Therefore, my brothers and sisters, make every effort to confirm your calling and election. For if you do these things, you will never stumble, (1)

¹¹ and you will receive a rich welcome into the Eternal Kingdom of our Lord and SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST.

To the Elders and the Flock

5 To the elders among you, I appeal as a fellow elder and a witness of CHRIST’s sufferings who also will share in the glory to be revealed:

² Be shepherds of GOD’s flock that is under your care, watching over them—not because you must, but because you are willing, as GOD wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve; (2)

³ not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock.

⁴ And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the Crown of Glory that will never fade away.
